Floral designer. Educator. Professionally-trained horticulturist.

Studying, stewarding, and cultivating the beauty of the earth with the end goal of connecting with people and bringing them joy, rest, and delight is one of my greatest joys in life. Simply put—I love people and plants.

From my childhood picking strawberries on steamy summer mornings at 5am with my grandparents on their small produce farm, to working with annuals, perennials, woodies, and customers at a retail greenhouse, to training at Longwood Gardens in an intensive two-year professional horticulture program, to my current position as a full-time outdoor horticulturist at Longwood Gardens and freelance educator and floral designer—I’ve always been enthralled with both the beauty and function of plants.

Currently, I have the privilege of working full-time at Longwood Gardens in Idea Garden. One of my favorite parts of this role is working with interns and students who come to study at Longwood from around the globe. I spend my days in the Ornamental Kitchen Garden where I specialize in growing specialty cut flowers. I also tend the oldest perennial garden space in the Idea Garden and create seasonal container displays. In the winter months, I pop over to the Floral Team from time to time to assist with large floral installs. I also teach workshops for both kids and adults. In my spare time, I do freelance floral work for dinner parties and small weddings.

In the future, I plan to continue traveling to gardens both regionally and across the world and bring back knowledge and experience to share and implement in the garden and vase. I also look forward to continue teaching and growing as an educator and communicator. A dream of mine is to host seasonal dinner parties to celebrate community and the bounty of the season by partnering with a variety of floral designers, chefs, potters, photographers and more.
